Ricky has spent over a decade in public accounting, and over the last couple of years, he has felt a disconnect in the way the traditional CPA model serves its customers. He believes that accountants and CPAs should not be judged on how many hours they bill but rather on the results and wealth they create for their customers. Successful companies in today's age are rooted in innovation, dynamism, customer service, investments in human capital, and effectiveness. In September of 2020, Adams & Associates Accounting Advisors was founded under the belief that it's time for the traditional CPA firm model to improve.
Ricky has a BS in Business Administration from USC Upstate (2009) and a Master of Accountancy from Gardner Webb (2011). He's a licensed CPA (2013), Accredited in Business Valuations (2020), and a QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor (2019).
He calls himself a generalist because he's been exposed to all areas of public accounting and also has spent two years in private accounting as an assistant controller at RL Jordan Oil Company. His specialties include:
- Software Expertise – (Accounting and other)
- Business Valuation
- Not-for-Profit Accounting
- Real Estate Management
- Professional Services
- Construction and Contractors
Outside of work, Ricky enjoys spending time with his wife Heather, two daughters, Hayden and Selah, and two dogs, Harry and Dutch! They are members of Eden Wesleyan Church. He enjoys exercising, golf, and keeping up with the Clemson Tigers!
